Oneida High School technology students had the opportunity to visit local manufacturers S.R. Sloan in Whitesboro and Bartell Machinery in Rome.
At S.R. Sloan, students saw how trusses are custom-designed, and how automation helps make production efficient.
At Bartell Machinery, students got to tour the facilities and learn about four major departments; the mechanical engineers, the electrical engineers, the machine shops, and the engineers in quality control.
Our local manufacturers offer numerous potential opportunities for our students. S.R. Sloan has summer jobs and opportunities to train on the job, and Bartell Machinery has paid internships and will help employees pay for education.
